Green light for temporary accommodation for education services at Cherry Orchard Hospital

PLANNING permission for temporary accommodation and an extension to a unit at Cherry Orchard Hospital, was granted permission by Dublin City Council.

The plans were lodged by the Health Service Executive last October, and given the all clear by city planners before Christmas.

The location for developments contained within the planning application is the Blackthorn Unit, Cherry Orchard Hospital Campus, Ballyfermot Road.

Proposals for the plans include a new single-storey detached temporary accommodation unit, to relocate Training & Education Services.

Plans also include a single storey extension (32.78m2) to the northeast of the Blackthorn unit, which includes alterations of elevations to suit revised layout for Daycare Service.

A new single-storey external detached M&E plant room is scheduled to be installed to the southwest of site, along with the fitting of solar panels to roof areas and associated works on all three building.

Alterations are also planned of parking/landscaped area to provide ambulance set down area and all associated site development works, services and landscaping.

According to conditions in the planning order by city planners, the applicant is to pay a development contribution of €16,600.

Planning permission for the temporary single-storey detached accommodation is granted for a period of five years, “in the interests of proper planning and development of the area”.
