LAND on the Greenhills Road, which is earmarked under the council’s regeneration plan, has gone to market for €400,000..

The site, which measures out to approximately 0.57 acres, is located just off the Walkinstown roundabout and has been labelled as a “commercial investment” or “development opportunity”.

There are several commercial buildings on the lands which are occupied by three tenants.

O’Malley Building Supplies, the Window and Door Repair Centre and PM Motors are all currently located on the site.

The lands have been listed for sale by private treaty with the current tenants unaffected through a freehold agreement by agent Savills.

In the South Dublin County Development Plan 2016-2022, 295 hectares of land was identified with capacity for 9,620 units and of that, 78 hectares were zoned “REGEN”.

A large proportion of the lands zoned REGEN in the outgoing development plan are in and around the Naas Road and extend down towards Walkinstown and the Greenhills Road.

The idea around the regeneration of established suburban areas through infill development and “brownfield redevelopment” on REGEN zoned lands, as per the development plan, is of priority to the council.
