Heroin worth €420,000 seized by Gardai in Clondalkin

Gardai in Clondalkin seized heroin worth €420,000 when they stopped and searched a car on Thursday night.
Working as part of an ongoing investigation targeting drug trafficking activities in the Dublin Region, Gardaí from the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau conducted the stop and search of the car in Clondalkin.
Following the search of the vehicle in Clondalkin, heroin with an estimated value of €420,000 was seized
A 35-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Lucan Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
The discovery of the drugs follows on from a massive drugs haul worth €1.5 million on Wednesday evening when Gardai stopped and searched two cars at Newlands Cross.
As part of an ongoing investigation targeting drug trafficking activities in the Kildare area, officers from Kildare supported by the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau stopped the vehicles and three males aged 40, 34 and 22, were arrested.
A large quantity of heroin with an estimated street value of €600,000 was seized and the males were arrested for drug trafficking offences and currently remain in custody at Clondalkin Garda station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended.
A number of follow up searches were conducted in the Kildare and Dublin areas resulting in quantities of cocaine and cannabis herb being recovered.
At this time, controlled drugs with an estimated street value of €900,000 were been seized in this operation. Investigations are ongoing.
