
IFTA nominations for local stars
There is plenty of local interest in this year’s Irish Film and Television Academy Awards, with Tallaght’s Seana Kerslake and Emmet Kirwan, and Aidan Turner from Clondalkin all being recognised in the nominations list.
Seana Kerslake is up for Best Actress in a Lead Role for her brilliant performance in A Date with Mad Mary, while Charleigh Bailey is up for Best Supporting Role in the same film.
A Date With Mad Mary is also up for Best Film and Best Script, while the film’s director, Darren Thornton is up for Best Director.
Elsewhere, Emmet Kirwan’s stunning short film, Heartbreak has been nominated for Best Short Film.
The viral sensation, which features Tallaght actress, Jordanne Jones has been a massive hit online.
Finally, Clondalkin man Aidan Turner has been nominated for Best Actor in a Lead Role in Drama for his part in in the BBC hit series Poldark.
The awards take place on April 8 in Dublin.
