Incredible Years toddler project celebrates 18 graduates
By Maurice Garvey
A GROUP of 18 dedicated mammies completed the Incredible Years toddler parenting programme at Deansrath Family Centre this week.
Each mother committed to attending for 12 evenings and one even brought along her beautiful baby girl of eight days old on the last week so she could graduate.
The programme is the final part of the Up to 2 programme funded by the BlueSkies Initiative, which is the name of the consortium in the Clondalkin area under the Area-Based Childhood Initiative.
The initiative is managed locally by the consortium which is made up of members from several statutory and community organisations in the area and is led by Archways.
The toddler programme was delivered by Deansrath Family Centre parenting facilitator Susan Mulroe and nurse Nora Slevin.
Both women are experienced and accredited Incredible Years facilitators.
These mothers will continue to be involved with services available in Deansrath Family Centre, which include family mornings, the Aistear ‘Learn Through Play’ programme, a range of Incredible Years parenting programmes and family support services.
