Indoor Market Fair at Our Lady of Victories building

AN INDOOR market fair takes place at the Our Lady of Victories building on Sarsfield Road, on Saturday, December 10, from 11.30am to 4pm.

The event is being held to raise funds for the refurbishment of the building, beside the Applegreen service station, which had fallen into disrepair and became vacant.

Up to 26 stalls have been rented by residents, who will offer a wide variety of goods for sale.

Organiser Imelda Fennell, encourages people to pick up a bargain before Christmas, and to call her if they want to rent a table at the market for €15 – 0872921525.

Imelda’s father Tommy Fennel (60), a retired army veteran, has spent the last two years refurbishing the premises – cycling over from his home on Blackhorse Avenue every week.

Originally from Ballyfermot, Tommy runs the Black Dragon karate club at the OLV, and rents a room to a local Christian church, but hopes to entice in more clubs once further refurbishments are completed.
