Irish dad gunned down in Majorca named locally as Trevor O’Neill from Drimnagh

The Irish man gunned down in an apparent case of mistaken identity in Majorca last night has been named locally as Trevor O’Neill from Drimnagh.

The Dublin City Council worker was on holidays with his family when he was shot up to four times.

According to reports from Spain, Mr O’Neill was shot in front of his family after they had enjoyed a meal in a local restaurant.

When contacted by The Echo, a spokesman for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said that the Department is aware of the case and is providing consular assistance to the family.

Police on the holiday island have said they believe up to three people were involved in the attack and investigations are ongoing.
