It’s National Fish and Chips Day!

Celebrating its tenth year, National Fish and Chips Day takes place today!
Members of the Irish Traditional Italian Chippers Association (ITICA), which includes Borza and Macari’s in Tallaght, will be offering customers half-price fish and chips today (Wednesday, May 22).
Speaking with The Echo this morning, Teresa Borza, of Borza Tallaght, which opened in 1972, said: "It is a busy day that gets better and better every year, our staff work really hard with the prep for the day ahead but there is always a great buzz around the place, particularly the mad rush between 5:30pm to 9pm."
According to Teresa, the response to National Fish and Chips Day has been "amazing" since it was introduced, with the day being “well received and supported” by their customers.
Borza Tallaght also has a free draw to win different prizes, including a €250 voucher for Harvey Norman.
