ITT land All-Ireland Baskteball title

IT TALLAGHT took the final step on the road to the All-Ireland Men’s Colleges and Universities Division Two Basketball title following a 75-65 point victory over UCC in the National Basketball Arena on Tuesday.
In what was a close contest throughout most of this title match, Tallaght managed to open up a 15-point gap in the third quarter although UCC did fight back to close the gap to seven at one point.
Yet, with the aid of MVP Liam Guinan, who hit some big shots for the evntual winners, ITT weathered the late surge by their opponents to take the prize.
Aidan Dunne figured strongly for Tallaght with 25 points while Graham Brannelly hit 14, Liam Guinan 12 and Ogie Arcilla 8.
The team will now turn their attention to the Inter-Varsities in Galway at the start of April, before they head to Belgium for the PUC Games at the end of that same month.
