James O’Callaghan departs Rovers after debut season

Shamrock Rovers Women’s boss James O’Callaghan has left the club following the conclusion of the 2026 Premier Division season.

Under the eye of O’Callaghan the club finished in fourth place, 15 points behind champions Athlone though they appeared to be always improving with a steady stream of young talent making their way through.

O’Callaghan previously established himself as one of the top managers of the women’s game over an eight year period with Peamount United, winning three league titles in the process.

Rovers released a statement following his departure from the club.

“Following the conclusion of the 2026 season, we can confirm that James O’Callaghan will be departing his role as First Team Head Coach.

“We would like to thank James for his commitment and professionalism during his time at the Club and wish him all the very best for the future.”
