Jude’s raise Senior Two crown
THERE was success for St Jude’s senior camogie teams in the championship finals at the weekend.
Jude’s secured the Senior Two crown while Faughs/ Celtic lifted the Division Three title in Abbostown.
A late finish from St Jude’s saw them overcome the challenge of Skerries Harps 1-7 to 0-7.
Skerries were ahead on 55 minutes, but a score from keeper Faye McCarthy levelled matters and then the same player pushed Jude’s a point clear with a score from near the sideline.
As the game hit the hour mark, Player of the Match Sinead Nolan grabbed the winner with a fine goal.
Jude’s led by 0-5 to 0-3 at the break but scores were hard to come by in the second half until Faye hit the equaliser late on.
Meanwhile, Faughs/ Celtic will have to meet Kilmacud Crokes again after the sides finished deadlocked 3-5 to 2-8.
This was a cracking encounter with Crokes levelling matters in the 63rd minute.
Kerrie Finnegan scored a goal and a point as did Teresa Timmons while Isobelle Costelloe and Kate Holland were also on target.
