TALLAGHT tenpin bowler Amanda Larkin produced a very impressive performance to finish 11th at the European Cup in the Czech Republic last weekend.

The Number One female player in Ireland played 16 games over the opening two days of the competition to qualify for the last 16 of the event.

“I started off really well in the tournament” she told The Echo. “While I performed well on the second day I didn’t score as well as I did on the first but I still qualified for the top 16.

“The standard was just so high, it was very hard to stay with them” she added.

Only home for two days from that tournament, Larkin is, today, flying out to Bulgaria to compete in another round of the European Tenpin Bowling Tour.

She has already lined out in four events in this year’s series, emerging the top female player and fifth overall in Ireland.

She just missed out on the cut by one pin in Poland before finishing in the top eight in Malta and will be in confident mood for this outing.
