MANCHESTER United’s Old Trafford Stadium and AON Training Complex have been kitted out with a door handle sanitising system by Sanitiser Direct – which is headed up by a Tallaght man.

The company’s Handle Hygiene product is fixed above a door handle and it automatically sterilises the handle after each use by spraying a sanitiser, which kills “99.999% of germs” including coronavirus, according to the company.

In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Manchester United decided to install the Offaly-based company’s system to protect their fans, staff and players, and the units are situated in Old Trafford and the AON Training Complex.

The director of Sanitiser Direct, Matt O’Reilly, who is originally from Belgard Heights in Tallaght, said: “Manchester United have come back to tell us they are delighted with our Handle Hygiene sanitiser system.

“It is great, during this time, to have a product that can help companies, like Manchester United, to stop the spread of infection and keep their players, staff and customers safe.”

Other companies who have had the Handle Hygiene system installed include Johnson & Johnson, Home Store & More, Tallaght University Hospital, Hibernia REIT and Wavin Ltd.
