Local history with Monica McGill: The Origami Monk reminds us of monasteries and paper mills

Supported by our national Per Cent for Art Scheme, Clondalkin’s newest public artwork is the Origami Monk, by artist Ms Ngaire Jackson.

It’s at the junction of (New) Nangor Road and the Ninth Lock Road. The sculpture suggests some immediate themes – Clondalkin’s history of Celtic Christianity, our monks (like St Crónán Mochua) and paper-making.
