HORKAN’S SuperValu in Templeogue were announced finalists in the ‘SuperValu Store of the Year 2016’ title.

The nomination puts the Orwell Shopping Centre store amongst the top twelve SuperValu chains in Ireland, after Horkan’s fought off stiff competition from 221 SuperValu stores across the country.

Horkan’s were presented with their finalist award by Martin Kelleher, SuperValu Managing Director, Michael Morgan, SuperValu Sales Director and Eoin MacManus, Director of Three Business, the competition sponsors.

SuperValu stores throughout the country were assessed and adjudicated by independent competition judge, Paul Ellison.

Audits focused on product range and innovation, store presentation, fresh food offering, customer care, and store quality and hygiene standards.

SuperValu MD, Martin Kelleher said: “This is a tremendous achievement for these finalists as they have maintained exceptionally high retail standards across all areas of the store. These finalists stood out as exceptional stores demonstrating our true brand credentials of real food, real people.”

SuperValu recorded sales of €2.6 billion in 2015, and holds a 25 per cent market share.
