OVER €600 was raised in aid of homeless charity A Lending Hand last Sunday, November 29 at the Lipstick, Glitter and Me Ladies’ Day Out event in the Green Isle Hotel, reports Laura Lyne.

The event was organised by Clondalkin blogger Rachel Goucher of Lipstick, Glitter and Me, and saw a fashion show, make-up and hair demonstrations and giveaways and spot prizes taking place on the day.

Funds were raised for A Lending Hand through a raffle that took place on the day, which saw some prizes donated and sponsorship for the event from local companies Pandinis, Clondalkin, Love Harper clothing store in Palmerstown and Wholefoods Wholesale in the Kylemore Industrial Estate.

Models in the runway show also came from Love Harper in Palmerstown, with Tallaght blogger Kiera of Just The F Word fashion and beauty blog giving style advice to attendees at the event.

A drop-off point for clothes, scarves, sleeping bags, hats and gloves for the homeless was also at the event, with A Lending Hand available throughout the day at the event to discuss the issues surrounding homelessness and how people can get involved to help those who are homeless.
