Lucan family fun day will see the return of the 25 bus

FOLLOWING protests about the loss of the 25 bus route, the Lucan Festival has decided to bring the bus back to the area in September, straight from the museum.

“Not only have we got back the 25 bus but also the 25 tram,” said the Lucan Festival Committee.

“Following on from local protests of the disappearance of the 25 bus we have succeeded in bringing it back to Lucan.

“We found them in the National Transport Museum in Howth and they will be making the long journey back to Lucan on Sunday, September 11.”

Lucan Festival takes place from September 5 to September 11.

It will feature a family fun day in the village, a fireworks display, historical tours, along with a Viking boat arriving on the weir.

The committee are putting together a collection of food and craft vendors for the festival.

The grounds of the Italian Embassy at Lucan House will be open on the Saturday of the festival.

This is the main fundraising event for the Lucan Festival committee.

Admission is €5 for adults, and free for children under the age of 12.

Details of a list of events will be published by the committee when finalised.
