Man (65) charged with distributing child pornography
A MAN (65), charged with distributing child pornography from his home in Tallaght, has been sent forward for trial to the Circuit Court.
Gerard O’Neill, with an address at Deerpark Road, Kiltipper, Tallaght, was before Judge Patricia McNamara in Tallaght District Court for service of his book of evidence.
A solicitor for the DPP told the court that the book was ready to be served. He said the DPP had consented for O’Neill to be sent forward for trial to the present sitting of Dublin Circuit Court.
O’Neill, aged 65, is charged with knowingly distributing child pornography from his home address on dates between April 15, 2015 and May 13, 2015 contrary to section 5 (1) of the Child trafficking and pornography Act, 1998.
He is also charged with possessing child pornography from his home address on dates between April 15, 2015 and May 13, 2015 contrary to Section 6 (1) of the Child trafficking and pornography Act, 1998. O’Neill was represented by his solicitor, Ciara Muldoon. Judge McNamara issued O’Neill with the alibi caution and sent him forward on to the present sitting of the Circuit Court.
