Man accused of robbing Rathcoole petrol station armed with a screwdriver

A MAN accused of robbing a petrol station in Rathcoole with a screwdriver has been sent forward for trial to the Circuit Court.
Robert Patchell was before Judge Grainne O’Neill in Blanchardstown Court for service of his book of evidence.
A solicitor for the State told Judge O’Neill that the book was ready to be served. She said the DPP had consented for Patchell to be sent forward to the present sitting of the Circuit Court.
Patchell, aged 36, with an address at Corbally Court, Naas, is charged with robbing a cash till from Topaz, Naas Road, Rathcoole, on June 22, 2016.
He is also charged with producing a screwdriver during the robbery at Topaz, Naas Road in Rathcoole on the above date.
Judge O’Neill granted legal aid with one junior counsel to Patchell’s solicitor, John O’Doherty.
She sent Patchell forward on bail to the present sitting of the Circuit Court.
