Man appears in court after car rams into shop at St Dominic’s Shopping Centre

BREATHNACH’S Bargains are back in full operation after the shop was rammed by a car in the early hours of Monday morning, reports Hayden Moore.

The local newsagents, which is located in St Dominic’s Shopping Centre, was at the centre of an incident that saw a vehicle colliding with the building.

Members of An Garda Síochána were called to the scene following reports of the incident at around 5.30am on Monday, July 12.

In a statement to The Echo, a Garda spokesperson said: “A male, aged in his early 20s, was arrested at the scene and detained at Tallaght Garda Station where he has since been charged and is due to appear before Tallaght District Court, this morning 13th July 2021 at 10:30am.”

The Echo understands that despite a big mess being made inside the shop, nothing was taken from Breathnach’s Bargains with everything fixed and back to normal operation.

Owner of Breathnach’s, Tony Walsh was not available for comment at the time of going to print.
