Man arrested after cash seized during Clondalkin search

GARDAI arrested a man (50s) and seized €64,500 and £79,010 in cash following a search in the Clondalkin area.

According to a Garda statement issued, gardai stopped a car in the Clondalkin area at around 6.45pm on Tuesday, May 17, and conducted a search of the vehicle.

A Garda spokesperson said: “During the course of the search, €64,500 and £79,010 in cash was discovered.

“Two mobile phones were also seized.

“A man in his 50s was arrested at the scene following the seizure and taken to Ronanstown Garda station.”

The man was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, with investigations ongoing.
