Man arrested in connection with fatal stabbing in Tallaght

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man who has been named locally as Ademola Giwa, in Tallaght yesterday evening.

The man in question, believed to be in his 20s, is being detained at Tallaght Garda Station following his arrest in Dundalk, Louth.

He is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

An Garda Siochána were notified of an incident that occurred at Mac Uilliam Road at around 7.15pm on Tuesday, August 10.

On arrival at the scene, Gardaí discovered a man, named locally as Ademola Giwa, aged 25-years-old seriously injured following an assault.

He was removed to Tallaght University Hospital with life threatening injuries and was pronounced dead later that evening.

Today, a Garda spokesperson said: “The post-mortem of the deceased is scheduled to conclude later this afternoon.

“A second male in his 50s continues to receive medical attention for non-life threatening injuries sustained during the same incident.”

Gardaí are appealing to anybody that may have witnessed the incident, been in the area between 6.30 and 7.15pm or taxi’s with dash cam footage to come forward.
