Broderick was represented by his solicitor, Simon Fleming.

Broderick, aged 29, with an address at Black Forge Avenue, Tattyreagh, County Tyrone, pleaded guilty to public drunkenness and engaging in threatening and abusive behaviour at the Green Isle Hotel, Clondalkin, on June 13, 2019.

Sergeant Geraldine McManigan gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution by certificate for Broderick to Judge McHugh.

Sgt McManigan told Judge McHugh that at 12.50 that morning gardai had responded to a call at the Green Isle Hotel.

She said that when the gardai arrived, they found Broderick to be highly intoxicated and acting in an aggressive manner.

Sgt McManigan said Broderick was given a number of opportunities to desist and to go back to his room but he refused to do so and was arrested.

Sgt McManigan said Broderick had one previous conviction.

At Ballyshannon District Court on April 21, 2017, he had been fined €110 for breaching the peace.

Mr Fleming said that his client was embarrassed to be in court.

He said Broderick had been given every opportunity by the gardai to desist from his behaviour.

Convicting, Judge McHugh fined Broderick €80 for the public drunkenness charge and took the remaining charge into consideration.
