Medals galore for chefs at Peachtree East

LIFE couldn’t get any sweeter for the team at Peachtree East, after two of the restaurant’s commis chefs brought gold and silver medals back to Tallaght from a national cooking competition.

Jamie Daly from Deerpark and Luke Robinson from Walkinstown, who are both commis chefs at Peachtree East, entered the 2019 Culinary Championships in the RDS last week – and took home gold and silver respectively.

Jamie was awarded gold and named the overall class winner in the Irish Pork category while Luke scooped silver in the Open Fish Category for his seared cod dish.

Speaking with The Echo, chef and co-owner of Peachtree East Paul Phillips said: “We are constantly doing competitions and trying to push ourselves forward.

“I think it’s important for the younger chefs, competitions keep you sharp and they are good for your career going forward.

“[Jamie and Luke] practiced for [this competition] on their day off every week… which speaks for their character as well as their CV.”

Employing 20 people across front of house and kitchen, Paul believes that the recent success has been a win for the whole Peachtree team.

“The win has been great for Peachtree, great for the team, as we were all behind them”, Paul said.

Peachtree East is located in Tallaght Cross East.
