THREE club medals were stolen from Ballyboden St Enda’s player Conal Keaney’s car in Ballycullen last month.

The county, provincial and all Ireland medals were stolen on December 22, along with a number of other items in the former inter-county star’s car.

Conal Keaney Medals

Mr Keaney won the medals as part of Ballyboden St Enda’s All Ireland Senior Club Football Championship campaign during 2015 and 2016, and had left them in his car as he was intending to bring them to his mother’s house.

Speaking to The Echo, Mr Keaney said: “They left the boxes for the medals behind, which is almost worse because it reminds me of what I don’t have.

“It was hard enough to get them in the first place.”

Mr Keaney said he didn’t believe that he was specifically targeted, and that it was “very unlikely” that whoever robbed the car would’ve known the medals were in there.

He has filed a report with the Gardai, and appealed to whoever stole the medals to “just drop them into the guards.

“I’m not worried about the other stuff that was stolen, I just want to get the medals back.”

Ballyboden St Enda’s won the All Ireland Championship after a phenomenal win over Castlebar Mitchels last St Patrick’s Day.
