SHE MAY BE Ireland’s most famous housewife but Mrs Brown will be getting a run for her money when Claudia Gelling walks around Lucan dressed as the comedy legend.

Claudia is planning on walking 10k to raise much needed funds for Weston Airports Special Day of Flying on Saturday July 7.

She will be doing the walk with abunch of blue balloons in her hand in recognition of her four children with  autism.

Claudine told The Echo; “Weston’s Special Day of Flying tries to make the day as magical for children with disabilities as they can. I’m trying to organise items to make up goodie bags for all the special flyers on the day and entertainment / fun for their families on the ground.”

With four children on the autism spectrum, aged nine, eight, six and three, Claudine regularly has her parenting hands full and that is why the day in Weston is so special.

She said: “As parents / families of children with special needs we don’t get many days of pure acceptance, love and fun. A day of laughter and smiles where the skies above us are filled with pure love, a day that from the ground to the tip top of the sky is filled with acceptance.

“No matter what they do, if they drop something or they dirty themselves, nobody raises an eyelid. It’s extraordinary. We get so little help from the state but a day like this is just magic.”

Claudia is also using this opportunity to tackle one of her greatest fears, her fear of flying.

She said; “I plan to go on a flight in a light aircraft around the skies of Lucan. Every child with special needs on the day will also get to go on a flight.”

She added: “If you could sponsor me even a euro or two or if you would like to donate bags of jellies, lolly pops, party favours etc that could fill these bags for the special flyers, all donations are very welcome. No matter how big or small every little helps.”

Claudia has set up a “Go Fund Me Page” here if you would like to donate or to the Weston Special Day of Flying Charity Number: 20108946
