New stretch of roadway for Adamstown

THE ADAMSTOWN DAC has applied to South Dublin County Council to construct 1,475 metres of roadway within the boundaries of the Adamstown Strategic Development Zone in Lucan.

The road will include 1,010m of the road known as Loop Road to include on-road cycle lanes, together with the planted verge, tree planting, public lighting and footpath on the eastern side, and a buffer strip and kerbs on the western side.

The application also includes the completion of approx. 225m of Adamstown Drive in the vicinity of its junction with Loop Road, together with tree planting, public lighting, off-road cycle track and footpath on the southern side of Adamstown Drive, new layouts at Loop Road, with Adamstown Drive (to the north) and Adamstown Way (to the south).

The application includes the provision of cycle tracks, connecting to on-road cycle lanes along Loop Road; the re-alignment of Tandy’s Lane at the junction of Tandy’s Lane and the alignment of Loop Road, with the creation of a new junction at the location, in line with the future alignment of this section of Tandy’s Lane under the Adamstown Planning Scheme.

It also includes a new junction layout at Adamstown Park and Station Road, and a temporary concrete footpath to the north of Station Road between that junction and the proposed site of the Adamstown All-Weather Pitch.
