No Council houses will be built in 2017

NO COUNCIL houses will be built in 2017, the latest meeting of South Dublin County Council heard recently.

Councillor Charlie O’Connor had put down a question asking “the Chief Executive to present a report on the Council's Housing Construction Programme confirming how many houses have been built so far this year and detailing expected house completions in 2017/2018.”

The Council replied that they have commenced construction activity on six sites to date in 2017 with a further three in September 2017.

They added: “There will be no house build completions in 2017 though we anticipate 280 units completed under the social housing build programme in 2018.”

The Council will complete 95 homes in the second quarter of 2018, 85 in the third quarter and 100 in the fourth quarter of 2018.
