Nominate – The Echo’s Leading Lights Sports Awards 2020

While we may not be able to hold our annual Sports Awards this year, The Echo wants to pay tribute to clubs and volunteers who have gone above and beyond for their members in a year that has presented unique challenges.

The cost of the Covid-19 crises has proven immense for all sports clubs and associations in 2020 and The Echo and our partners, South Dublin County Sports Partnership, the Green Isle Hotel, South Dublin County Council and AWS, want to recognise some of the great work that has been carried out in order for clubs to continue operating and, in many cases, survive.

We also want to recognise the support that many clubs have continued to provide to their members, those clubs that continued to play as a team, even when apart.

Therefore, this year, we are looking for your nominations for the following categories in The Echo Leading Light Sports Awards 2020.

Sports Coach of the Year

For the coach who has best kept their members active and on course to reach their targets and fulfil their ambitions. A coach who has continued to inspire and motivate despite the challenges faced.

Sports Volunteer of the Year

Someone who has worked hard to keep their club operational and provided continuous support and encouragement to members in these challenging times.

Sports Club of the Year

For the club that has demonstrated great initiative in meeting the challenges of 2020 head on.
