November Team of the Month: Tallaght Martial Arts

TALLAGHT Martial Arts were on top of the World at the WAKO Senior World Championships in Albufeira, Portugal taking home seven medals of the nine taken by Team Ireland.

Tallaght Martial Arts had nine athletes qualify to represent Ireland at this event taking home four gold and three bronze – an awe-inspiring haul for the club and the main part of the Irish team’s overall success.

Jodie Browne was one of the success stories at the worlds when she successfully defended her World Title along with Conor McGlinchey, Stephen Jones and Adam Condon who are now world champions.

Jodie cements her name in WAKO history books, in addition to holding the World Combat Games title and WAKO European Title, she is now the WAKO World Champion an amazing accomplishment.

“We have had a great year and a lot of events this season,” explains Tallaght Martial Arts coach Dave Heffernan.

“We had the Combat Games, European Games and we had gold medallists in all the events and we are now preparing for the World Games in China.

“Everyone has worked so hard preparing for events and to win these titles in just brilliant for everyone at the club,” added. Dave.
