Out of action traffic lights in Ballymount causing long traffic delays

A set of traffic lights that are currently out of action at the Naas Road junction with Turnpike Road (Ballymount Road Lower) are leading to delays in the area this afternoon.

The broken traffic lights, which feed vehicles onto the Naas Road and then onto the M50 and N7 are already causing long delays within Ballymount Industrial estate.

The AA have said drivers should approach the area with caution.

Some businesses in Ballymount have also reported having no electricity, but ESB Networks are not currently reporting any issues in the area.

The warning to motorists follows two days of heavy delays on the M50 for drivers who were stuck for more than an hour both days.

Meanwhile, a burst water mains in the Bluebell area means there may be a disruption in services for users in the area, while there is also a traffic management plan in place

In a statement from Irish water they said: “Repairs to a burst water main may cause supply disruptions to Naas Road, Davitt Road, Bluebell Road, Huband Road, Bluebell Avenue and surrounding areas in Bluebell, Dublin 12.

“A traffic management system will be in place for the duration of the works at the junction of Naas Road and Davitt Road.

“Works have an estimated completion time of 8pm on 11 January.

“If you need to contact us about this supply and service alert, please quote this unique alert reference number: DCC007278.”

If you spot anything while on the roads please do get in touch only if it is safe to do so.
