Over 30 boarded-up houses in county
THERE ARE over 30 boarded-up council houses in the county, the December monthly meeting of South Dublin Council heard this week.
Councillor Charlie O’Connor put down a question asking the Chief Executive “to confirm what actions he is taking to deal with boarded-up council houses across the county”.
Cllr O’Connor also asked the Chief Executive for details on the boarded-up houses in each electoral area and for the average waiting time before such houses are returned to the housing stock.
The council replied that there are currently 32 units “under various stages of works to bring back up to letting standards” and that the average turnaround time is approximately nine weeks.
