Over 30 groups to take part in Lucan St Patrick’s Day parade

IT’S THE feast day of our Patron, St Patrick and this year’s Lucan St Patrick’s Day Parade promises to offer an afternoon of traditional family entertainment with 30 groups in the running order.

The parade will begin on Hillcrest Drive at 3pm. Over 16,000 people are expected to line the streets of Lucan village. The parade will make its way onto Millstream Road, before continuing onto the Old Celbridge Road and finishing on Main Street.

The parade running order is as follows: Oglaigh Naisiunta Na hEireann, Dublin All Stars Marching Band, Lucan Red Cross, Lucan Disability Action Group, Lucan Lions Club, Reilly School of Irish Dance, Concept Living, 142nd Esker Scouts, Esker Boxing Club,  Ronanstown Community Training Centre, Zara Curtis Academy of Irish Dance,  Access Lift Trucks Ltd, Beech Park FC, St Laurence O Toole Pipe Band, Crosscare Lucan Youth Service, The Lucan 23rd Scouts Group, Emma & Walter Kilcullen, Be Unique Beauty Salon &Academy, Specsavers Hearcare, Adamstown Cricket Club, the 180th Lucan South Scouts, Na Gaeil Oga, Liffey Archers, Lucan Healthy Hub, AHMADIYYA Muslim Association Ireland, Lucan Sarsfields GAA, Remi The Handyman, Goldwing Owners Club of Ireland and Vespa Pitstop Crew, Clondalkin Youth Band and Entwine Performing Arts.

The parade route will close from 2pm and is due to reopen before 6pm.

Parking restrictions will be in place from 10am. Weir Bridge will remain open to traffic both ways but there will be no access to Lucan’s Main Street.
