Peachtree East starts food collection and delivery service

UPDATE: Following on from Friday night's Government announcement (March 27) on tighter retrictions, Peactree East has made the decision to fully close, including its collection and delivery service. They've thanked everyone for their continued support and look forward to welcoming people back to the restaurant when it reopens.

TALLAGHT restaurant Peachtree East is starting a food collection service this weekend.

From 5pm this evening, Friday, March 27, the local restaurant is starting a weekend collection service from its Tallaght Cross East premises.

There will also be a limited delivery service for those who most need it.

Speaking with The Echo, owner Paul Phillips said that the service will initially be run on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday basis.

On these days, people can ring Peachtree East and place an order for collection or delivery between the hours of 5pm and 9pm.

“We’ve ammended our menu to include dishes people would want to eat at home, and not break the bank”, said Paul.

“We are being considerate of people’s budgets at the moment.

“We’ve got a selection of wholesome, homemade dishes…freshly made to order.

“We could end up making changes to the menu depending on feedback and how things go over the weekend.”

He added: “We are encouraging phone payment and nobody can come into the restaurant.

“You have to ring in, don’t drop in.”

Alongside a number of health and safety measures, including gloves, masks and sanitising facilities for staff, the Peachtree restaurant is closed to the public – with those collecting food asked to ring when outside.

“We hope everyone supports us”, Paul said.

“We’re trying to be part of the solution and we hope people can give us a dig out too… and buy local.

“We employ 20 local people here and are a big part of the Tallaght community.”

The team at Peachtree have also been playing their part and dropping off morning coffee and scones to those supporting and caring for the community during this challenging time.
