
Pedestrian suffers serious injuries after road traffic accident
UPDATE (October 21 12pm):
Gardaí investigating the serious injury road traffic collision which occurred on Cloverhill Road, Clondalkin on Sunday afternoon, October 20 have made an arrest.
A man, aged in his 20 was arrested last night and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in South Dublin.
Investigations ongoing.
A PEDESTRIAN was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a road traffic accident at Cloverhill Road in Clondalkin at lunch time on Sunday.
According to Gardai, the accident occurred around 1.45pm involving a man in his 20s in which a van failed to remain at the scene.
Gardai have made an appeal for information to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
A Garda statement released on Sunday said: “Gardai are investigating a road traffic collision which occurred on Cloverhill Road, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, this afternoon, Sunday 20th October 2024.
“The incident involving a male pedestrian and a van occurred at approximately 1.45pm. The male pedestrian (20s) was brought to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
“The van failed to remain at the scene.
“A technical examination of the scene has been carried and the road has since reopened to traffic”.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. They are also seeking any camera footage, including dash-cam video from those travelling in the area at the time, to assist with the investigation.
