WHO doesn’t love family time over pizza?

Rascals Brewing Company in Inchicore has in recent months become a hub for families locally, with its recently renovated large, open plan design perfect for family feeding.

With a varied selection of pizza on the menu, kids now eat free at Rascals on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The Inchicore-based brewery and rustic pizzeria has also extended its opening hours and is now open seven days a week.

Over the past year, Rascals has formed somewhat of a hub for parents to bring their kids and meet other families right in the heart of Inchicore.

“If anyone comes in and buys one of the main pizzas then kids will eat free [on Mondays and Tuesdays],” said Joe Donnelly, Marketing Manager with Rascal Brewing Company.

A large open-plan space that sits 120 people, all of the items on the menu are inspired by local landmarks such as the Meat Me in Inchicore, Kilmainham Pale and Long Mile Rhodes pizzas.

“It’s a big open space with a nice environment and it’s not fine dining, families won’t be eating their pizzas with silver cutlery,” he added.

Pizza and beer; a staple of Rascals.

“We have high-chairs, colouring sheets and families don’t have to worry about getting their kids to eat something – you can’t go wrong with pizza.”

Rascal’s was started in 2014 by Emma Devlin and Cathal O’Donoghue in Greenogue Business Park in Rathcoole and they made the move to the larger premises that is a short walk from the Blackhorse Luas stop last year.

A brewery first and foremost, Rascal’s produce four core beers with two specials each month that are produced through their pilot brewing kit – allowing them to create experimental beers that go straight to tap.

Recently, they have now started opening for lunch on Friday’s to give the locals an opportunity to unwind from the working week.

“There seemed to be an appetite for it because on Friday people just want to relax after a week in work, forget about salads and reward themselves with a pizza,” continued Joe.

“It’s good for employers as well to boost morale by getting staff out of the office and rewarding them with some pizza and beers.”

Rascals HQ, located in Goldenbridge Estate just off the Tyrconnell Road, is open Monday to Thursday 4pm to 10pm and Friday to Sunday from 12pm to 10pm.
