Plans lodged to develop 176 residential units in Lucan

AN APPLICATION has been lodged for the development of 176 residential units on Tubber Lane in Lucan.

The application, which was lodged by Hugh McGreevy & Sons & Tierra Ltd, outlines plans for the development of 122 houses and 54 apartments.

It is proposed that the houses will consist of 20 four-bed, semi-detached houses, 23 four-bed, three-storey town houses, 39 116 sq m three-bed, terraced houses, and 40 114 sq m three-bed, terraced houses.

The submission includes plans for the apartments to be housed in two blocks, with Block E consisting of four one-bed apartments, ten two-bed apartments, four three-bed apartments

It is proposed that Block F will contain nine one-bed apartments, 26 two-bed apartments and one three-bed apartment.

The subject site has a total site area of 4.72 hectares, and is located to the southeast of Tubber Lane Road and in the northeast of the Adamstown Strategic Development Zone lands.

There are provisions for the development of new internal roads and footpaths, pedestrian and cyclist facilities, a public space with a total area of 0.31 hectares, landscaping and foul and surface water draining.

It is also proposed that private and semi-private open space to serve the units will be provided in the form of balconies, patios and gardens, and that car-parking will be provided by the development of 329 car-parking spaces.

The development will also comprise of a new section of Adamstown Drive Road, of approximately 180 metres in length, which will provide access to serve the residential development.

The new section of Adamstown Drive will make provisions for vehicular traffic, bus services, on-street parking and separated cycle track and footpaths. The site will be accessed via an access point in the south of the application site off Adamstown Drive. 

A decision is on the application is due from South Dublin County Council by August 23.
