Rascals team up with Club Orange to create a new ale

A BREWERY based in Inchicore has teamed up with Club Orange to create a Rock Shandy Pale Ale.

Rascals Brewing Company, which was founded in 2014 by husband-and-wife team Cathal O’Donoghue and Emma Devlin have become an integral part of the community since opening their doors.

Inspired by the craft beer industry in New Zealand which has exploded in the last decade, the couple began home brewing as a hobby which later developed into a business idea.

Since opening, Rascals have connected craft beer with the community – sponsoring the local soccer club, St Patricks Athletic, been involved in local clean-ups in the area with the Inchicore Environmental Group, helped organise fundraisers with Ring Street Youth and Community Club and put on pizza-making workshops with Youth Services in Goldenbridge.

Winning gold and silver awards at the 2016 World Beer Awards and gold and bronze at the 2020 World Beer Awards, the brewery prides themselves on delivering traditional beer styles with a twist – such as strawberry Vanilla Milkshake IPAs and Chocolate stouts, and their latest creation is no different.

Rascals have teamed up with another local Irish company – Club, which is produced in Britvic, Kylemore to create a Rock Shandy flavoured pale ale.

Speaking about the new creation, Ian O’ Rourke, marketing manager with Club said: “We are delighted to be collaborating with Rascals Brewing Company on this exciting new flavour.

“Club is a proudly Irish brand and has been produced in Dublin since the 1930’s. It is a unique opportunity to partner with another local business that wants to show appreciation for their consumers by continuously offering new and interesting flavours.”

Rascals have kept their doors open in some capacity throughout the pandemic and continue to employ staff in the heart of Inchicore with their pizza kitchen, brewery and taphouse and event spaces as well as an online store where you can purchase the unique craft beer they offer.
