Red meat, cancer, and how medicine has changed

By Echo Reader

Dear Editor,

In response to the letter about red meat causing cancer, it’s not the first time that red meat gets blamed for something.

I am now 82 years of age. But when I was eight years of age, I was struck down with bad psoriasis.

My then country doctor Dr McCormick (RIP), of Tipperary, told my family to stop red meat, and use sulphur ointment.

I had two fried eggs every day instead of meat.
