Residents complain about ‘hard’ water

IRISH Water has received ten complaints from residents in Lucan and Clondalkin about ‘hard’ water, the Lucan area committee of South Dublin County Council heard.
Councillor Liona O’Toole had tabled a motion calling for Irish Water to reconsider not issuing leaflets on water quality to all Lucan residents as not all residents have access to online media.
The Council replied that Irish Water have received ten complaints from customers in Lucan and Clondalkin areas regarding hard water.
They said it would not be possible for Irish Water to carry out a leaflet drop every time they change water supplies “due to both financial and resourcing constraints”.
They said Irish Water immediately lets consumers know if there are any health implications with their water supply, as it is legally obliged to do.
They added that there are no health implications as a result of a hard water supply.
