Restoration plan for ‘Silver Bridge’ across Liffey mooted

A RESTORATION PLAN for the Silver Bridge across the Liffey has been called for by the Mayor of South Dublin, Councillor Guss O’Connell.

Mayor O’Connell tabled a motion at this month’s council meeting which called for the elected members to “compliment and congratulate the campaigners for the 2,500-strong petition to save the “Silver Bridge” linking Palmerstown and Farmleigh across the River Liffey, delivered on the 26th January to the Mayor of South Dublin and the Deputy Mayor of Fingal.”

The motion requests that the Chief Executive initiate discussions counterparts in Fingal County Council, and in consultation with the campaigners,” bring forward a plan for the Bridge for consideration at May meeting of Sth Dublin County Council”.

The motion was passed and it was stated contact will be made with Fingal County Council with a view to preparing a brief report detailing the consideration/ constraints involved.
