Shamrock Rovers have added to their growing list of new signings with the announcements of goalkeepers Tomer Chencinski and Kevin Horgan.

Chencinski signs with the Hoops after the 32-year-old left Swedish side Helsingborgs following relegation, making 16 appearances under Celtic legend Henrik Larsson. He will provide a huge boost of experience for the Tallaght side.

Manager Stephen Bradley also brings in young goalkeeper Horgan from Galway United, with the 19-year-old impressing after previous perform-ances such as his Airtricity League debut against Rovers last April, which ended in a 2-0 loss for Galway.

Bradley suggested he and the club have worked on Tomer Chencinski’s move in previous weeks and hopes the Israeli-Canadian will provide a solid foundation for his side’s back-line.

“We’re delighted to sign Tomer Chencinski, we’ve been working hard on this one for the past few weeks now, and he’s a player that we’ve been really keen to get.

“He [Tomer] has played in a lot of good leagues and has a lot of experience, which is something we’re delighted about.” Bradley told ShamrockRovers.ie.

“Kevin is a really good goalkeeper, I’ve seen him feature a lot for Galway Under 19s and the senior side, I’ve been really impressed with what I’ve seen, so I’m really thrilled to get this signing done. He’s very young and has the right attitude, so we could see Kevin feature for Rovers for the next few years, which is great,” continued Bradley.

Horgan admitted his delight after signing for the former Airtricity League champions and suggested Bradley was a key part in his decision to move to the Tallaght stadium.

“Thrilled to sign here for the biggest club in Ireland. I can’t wait to get going. I met Stephen Bradley and my mind was made up straight away, I’m really excited about the future here at Rovers and the plans going forward,” Horgan told Shamrock Rovers.

“I want to become number one for Rovers, I love Galway and it was hard to leave, but when I spoke to the lads it was a no-brainer really, delighted to sign here and can’t wait to get going now.”
