Saggart housing plans set to remain unchallenged

THE decision by South Dublin County Council to grant permission for a housing development in Boherboy, Saggart is set to remain unchallenged after an application for leave to appeal was refused by An Bord Pleanala.

A decision to grant permission for the development was given by South Dublin County Council on July 15, and it will see the development of 215 units.

No more than 139 of the units can be occupied before the development of a centrally located open public space and until links to Corbally Heath and Carrigmore Park are constructed.

Included within the plans are 47 four-bedroom homes and 168 three-bedroom homes on the 8.16 hectare site.

Kelland Homes are expected to build up to 111 of the homes, with Durkan Estates expected to build the remaining homes.

In its decision, An Bord Pleanala said: “It is considered that it has not been shown that the development in respect of which a decision to grant permission has been made will differ materially from the development as set out in the application for permission by reason of conditions imposed by the planning authority to which the grant is subject.”
