City-style salon proving to be attractive beauty destination

ONE of Tallaght’s hidden gems for those looking to receive high quality/affordable beauty care is a colourful corner of Killinarden Enterprise Centre – proving to be an attractive one-stop beauty destination.

Three businesses at the centre – Spirit Hair Studio, Final Touch Beauty Room and the Make Up Room – compliment each other in terms of the range of services/prices they provide to customers.

Many clients avail of services in one or more of the businesses when they visit.

Crucially, according to Elaine Bailey, owner of Spirit Hair Studio, having the businesses located in an enterprise centre, means they aren’t punished with punitive commercial rates or rents, providing them with the means to pass on these savings to customers.

With over 20 years experience in the industry, Elaine took over the running of Spirit 18 months ago, and is operating “flat out” to cater for a constant flow of customers.

Firhouse resident Elaine said: “I worked in some high-end salons, including near the Westbury with high end prices, but always wanted to provide a city-style salon in the suburbs, with affordable prices. Our location at the enterprise centre allows us to do that.

“We have highly qualified staff and strive to provide a high standard of hair dressing in a relaxed environment at affordable prices.”

Elaine continued: “We are constantly flat out. I have customers coming in from places like Rathfarnham, Citywest, and Naas, because of our prices. We are situated beside Yvonne Costigan’s Final Touch and Sharon Carroll’s Make Up Room.

“They are lovely girls and have helped to create a great community feel to the place. It’s an ideal one-stop beauty location for weddings, events, parties and birthdays.”

Customers are advised to make an appointment with Spirt, as those that do, are given priority in the queue.

The recent introduction of Olaplex treatment – a scientific solution to transform broken/brittle hair – is a new exciting feature for the salon, according to Elaine.

“It’s revolutionised hair,” she said.

It gives more vibrancy and texture, it’s like botox for hair. A lot of clients are getting it done, but it’s up to them, how often they want to reapply it.

“We do an awful lot of colouring, and are constantly re-training staff for new products.”

Spirit are open at 9am Tuesday to Saturday, closing at 7pm on Thursday/Friday and 5pm on Saturday.
