Salons and barbers in the running for beauty awards

A NUMBER of local hairdressing salons and barbers are in contention for industry recognition after being nominated in the Irish Hair and Beauty Awards.

The awards in September, some of the most well-known in the industry, are split in two sections – hair- and beauty-related.

In contention for Hair Salon of the Year are Spirit Hair Studio (Tallaght) and Venus Hair & Beauty (Clondalkin).

Killinarden’s Spirit Hair Studio is also in contention for Salon Designer of the Year, along with Rum Toffee Creative Hair from Ballyfermot.

Rum Toffee Creative Hair is also nominated in the Best of Dublin category.

Nominated in Freelance Bridal Hair Specialist of the Year are The Powder Room Girls from Kingswood and Ali Dee Hairstyle from Tallaght.

Among other local businesses, Fusion Hair and Beauty from Citywest in Customer Service of the Year, and Old County Barbers, Crumlin in Men’s Stylist of the Year category, will be hoping to land awards.

Irfan Younis, CEO of Creative Oceanic, said: “The competition gets tougher each year as the breadth of talent and professionalism that exist in this country, shows no sign of shying away. We would like to congratulate all finalists.”

The black-tie ceremony will take place on Sunday September 9 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Santry.
