Santa gets on his bike to add to festive cheer

A SANTA cycle added to the Christmas atmosphere in Ballyfermot over the weekend.

Luke Costello, from Ballyfermot Youth Service, donned the outfit after deciding to add a bit of festive cheer to the community in the lead-up to Christmas.

Residents were invited to the BMX club at Le Fanu Park on Saturday, prior to Luke setting out on a Santa cycle.

Youngsters wore Christmas attire and Santa hats, enjoying the festive lights at the club.

Luke took off on his cycle, taking in Cherry Orchard, Ballyfermot, and stopping at a few strategic points along the way, to sing Christmas carols at some local houses.

The BMX club manage the skate park in the park, and its members, including Luke, volunteer to maintain the facility, via organised clean-ups each and every morning and evening.
