Shamrock Rovers linked with move for Bohemians Goalkeeper Kacper Chorążka
It is rumoured that Shamrock Rovers are once again set to swipe some talent from their crosstown rivals Bohemians as reports have recently emerged suggesting that goalkeeper Kacper Chorazka may be making the move to Tallaght.
Chorazka has been with the Gypsies since 2024 and made an impact immediately in the side, replacing longtime shotstopper James Talbot in goal and being named as the club’s player of the season in his debut campaign.
This season however, was not so positive for the Polish shot stopper.
After missing a game away at the Brandywell in the summer due to a clash with his wedding, Chorazka was dropped from the starting line up for the remainder of the season, a move that puzzled many Bohemians fans.
Replaced by American loanee Paul Walters, Chorazka has been relegated to the occasional appearance in the meantime, many have speculated that a possible fall out with manager Alan Reynolds may have contributed to this.
A move to Rovers would be a positive one for the keeper who does not look like he has much of a future in Dublin 7 at the minute.
Still, despite the impressive performances for Bohemians he will have to battle it out with Ed McGinty for the number one jersey with the Scottish born, Irish youth international long being considered one of the best in the league.
Rovers do need cover in the goalkeeping department however, particularly since the sale of highly rated prospect Alex Noonan to Ipswich Town for a fee believed to be around the €450,000 mark.
Signing Chorazka on a free deal would certainly be a shrewd bit of business from the current champions.
