Showcasing the spirit and vibrancy of D24 community

TALLAGHT’S enterprising and community spirits were on show last Saturday in a vibrant event that brought all elements of local life together.

Led by Bank of Ireland Tallaght, with support from local organisations, including The Echo, the Tallaght Enterprise Community Expo showcased all that is great about living and working in Dublin 24 and the people, businesses, groups, sports clubs and schools that call the area home.

Officially opened by the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Katherine Zappone TD, the event saw more than 50 local groups, charities, sports clubs and businesses setting up stands on the day, with entertainment provided by the Tallaght Youth Band, Exquisite Dance and the Ojemba Super Band.

The Echo’s Sports Editor Stephen Leonard also interviewed a panel of sports stars on the day, which included Mick Dowling, former Irish international boxer and TV boxing analyst, Kenneth Egan, 2008 Olympic boxing silver-medallist, Liam Dale, World and European kickboxing champion, Paddy Holohan, MMA coach and former UFC star, Amanda Larkin, national tenpin bowling champion, and Brendan Hyland, national swimming champion and record-holder.

Speaking after the event, Arwel Buckland, Commercial Branch Manager at Bank of Ireland, said: “I take this opportunity to thank you all for your support at the Tallaght Enterprise Community event.

 “Your energy and enthusiasm was outstanding.

“I’m sure you’ve all gathered it was a great success and have received excellent feedback.

“It achieved its goal of being a family fun day while supporting and encouraging local businesses and communities to make new connections.”
