Tallaght family plead for return of boy’s pet companion

The family of a young Tallaght boy with autism have pleaded for the return of his pet dog after it went missing from Rossfield on Friday.

Sean (10) has had the Chihuahua, known as Mojo, for some time, and according to his grandmother, the youngster has not stopped crying since the disappearance of the dog.

Speaking to Echo.ie his grandmother said: “Poor Sean has been inconsolable since Mojo went missing, he is whimpering in his sleep, and is totally distraught.

“We have put up a cash reward for the return of the dog and contacted the gardai in the hope that someone will help bring Mojo home.

“Sean has autism and the dog is like his best friend, he is part of our family, and I just plead with anyone who has information on Mojo’s whereabouts to contact us or gardai immediately.”

Mojo was spotted on Friday afternoon near Luas stops at Belgard, the Square and Kylemore in the company of two young boys, who it is believed got off at Kylemore and made their way down the Kylemore Road.

The dog’s distraught owners have also contacted the Luas operators in the hope that CCTV footage may help with the return of the family pet.

Mojo is microchipped and if anyone sees him they are asked to contact 085-2360990 or Tallaght Garda Station on 01-6666000.

Members of the public can also contact the Echo with any information via Facebook.
