Tallaght gearing up to hold another GOAL Mile run

THE 14th annual GOAL Mile will take place on the Tallaght Athletic Club track on Greenhills Road (beside Westpark Gym) on Christmas morning between 9.30am and noon.

All proceeds collected at the event go to help GOAL in their efforts to fight against poverty.

In 2016 Goal supported more than 6.7million people, including 850,000 in Syria and 1.3 million people suffering severe drought in Ethiopia.

Over the past 13 years more than 90,000 euro has been donated by the people of Tallaght and surrounding areas.

Organisers are making a special appeal this year for support in order to take this figure beyond the €100,000 mark.

“This is very much a fun occasion and some people attend in fancy dress so we would encourage people to bring along their families” said Tallaght AC’s John Cullen.

For people who may be taking part for the first time there is no need to register. You just turn up on the day and run/walk a mile and make a donation in the buckets at the finish line.

A certificate to verify your time from the master clock can be provided.

If anybody would like a sponsorship card or more information about the event they can call into the Tallaght AC clubhouse or contact John at 087 6934309.

A cup of tea/coffee for all participants will be provided on the day upstairs in the clubhouse.
